Jaume Subirós, the present chef and owner, has continued in the footsteps of Josep Mercader, the legendary figure of Catalan gastronomy who in 1961 founded our establishment under the name of “Motel Empordà”, the name by which it is still known and recognized by Catalan gourmets today.
Traditional Catalan cuisine, characterized by the products of the market-place that vary according to the season, serves as a basis for the creation of the true cuisine d’auteur which emerges from his kitchens.
